Volunteer Initiative for the Scituate Animal Shelter (VISAS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that funds facility, safety, and comfort improvements for the animals housed at the Scituate Animal Shelter.
Recent Projects
Climate Control Improvements
Fully funded and installed specialized wall-mounted infrared heat panels in the cat ward to protect vulnerable animals during freezing winters.
Structural Renovations
Provided modern vinyl plank flooring across the dog prep rooms, cat rooms, and bathrooms, replacing aging, hard-to-clean epoxy surfaces.
Facility Upgrades
Partnered with local civic entities to install updated drop ceilings and energy-efficient lighting.
